Christmas 2012

This year we had our annual Gordon Family Christmas Eve party at my sister Lesley's house. It was so fun to see everyone and the new babies that were born this year in our family. Santa came to the party and gave out presents to the kids which made it extra fun. After the party we came home and guess what? The elves had already been to our house! There were 4 presents in our Christmas tree. Jaylin got a new robe, and the other kids all got new jammies. Christmas morning we made breakfast and then it was present time! Presents took about an hour to open this year because we decided to put codes on the presents like Batman, Shrek, Barbie, etc. We had the kids guess which one they thought was theirs, if they got it right they could open it or they had to search the pile for a certain name and once they found that one they could open it. The kids loved it so I think we will do this every year so Christmas lasts a little longer :)

Christmas 2010

I know this post is way past due. This Christmas was a lot of fun for our family. My parents stayed with us this Christmas which made it extra special. I think they had a lot of fun watching the kids open all their presents and enjoyed opening a few surprise presents themselves. We had a ward Christmas party with hot chocolate and lots of desserts. We went to my sisters house on Christmas Eve for our family annual Christmas party and ate great food, read the Christmas Story, sang songs, and ... Santa came with presents for the little kids. When we got home the "elves" had brought early presents to us, they were jammies for everyone. David was trying to figure out how the elves got to our house to bring the jammies. It was really cool, he was so into the "Magic" of Christmas this year. We had a buffet to munch on all day, watched movies, played games and just hung out together as a family.

Christmas 2009!!!

We had a lot going on this Christmas Season. Jaylin's pre-school had a couple performances of the Christmas Story. Jaylin was the angel and was so cute. The kids performed for some Seniors and also for their families. They all did a great job. David helped out and was a shepard. We went swimming with some friends at a hotel in Salt Lake that had a water slide. That was pretty eventful. Jaylin thought she could swim without a life jacket and jumped right in when none of us was looking, thank goodness a young life guard was paying attention and jumped in to help her swim to the side. David's kindergarten class had a Christmas program for their families. It was cute, they sang songs and read their "Dear Santa" letters. My side of the family gets together every Christmas Eve and we have a buffet for dinner, read the Christmas story from the Bible, sing Christmas songs, and Santa comes with a present for the young grand kids. Then of course there is Christmas day where we stay home in our new Christmas jammies, play with our new toys, watch movies, and eat all day! Here a pictures of our festivities ;)

Jaylin in her pre-school play for the Seniors. Isn't she such a cute little angel?!

David singing songs in his kindergarten Christmas program. This is what his Dear Santa letter said that he read in front of everyone: "Dear Santa, please bring my mom and dad my new baby brother. Love, David." and NO I am not pregnant! He's just going to have to wait a while for that one ;)

Jaylin had to go outside a test drive her new scooter. She loves it!

Christmas 2008

This year we made our first ginger bread house. It was fun with David and Jaylin helping me, but they would rather eat the candy then "waste it" decorating the house. It turned out pretty good and the kids have already started eating the candy off it.

Christmas Eve we had our family Christmas Party at Rumbi Grill. My niece is the manager and was able to get the whole place reserved just for our family. It was so much fun hanging out with family and eating good food. We sang Christmas songs and Santa came and the kids got to sit on his lap and get a present. That made it really fun for the kids.

Christmas morning the kids came down the stairs and were so excited to see all their presents under the tree. We opened our presents and then we had pancakes, bacon, and sausage for breakfast. We watched WALL E and Kung Fu Panda and munched all day long. It was a really nice relaxing day. On a side note, on Christmas Eve we were getting ready to go to the party and the kids were in our room playing under our bed which is where I hid their presents. I told them to get out from under the bed and David said "There are presents, can I open them?" I told him "Those presents aren't for you" to which he replied "This one says David" Can I just say that boy is too smart for his own good!

The first two pictures I posted are of Jaylin on Christmas Eve in 2006 and Avery on Christmas Eve in 2008 wearing the same outfit. Jaylin was 11 months at the time of the picture and Avery was 9 months at the time of the picture. It was big on Jaylin and fit perfectly on Avery, she is a big cuddly baby. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year!!!

On the 26th we celebrated my dear sister Kim's 46th birthday. She passed away almost four years ago from ALS. My mom, dad, sisters, brother, and I went to her grave today and sang Happy Birthday to her. We all went to the Happy Sumo for lunch and talked about some memories of her we had and we just had a good time enjoying each other's company. I miss Kim so much and wish she were still here with us. I find myself thinking about her almost every day. We love you and miss you so much Kim. Happy Birthday.
