Japanese Exchange Student

This past summer we had a Japanese exchange student stay with us for 2 weeks. It was a lot of fun and I think Avery fell in love with Shinichi. She followed him everywhere. We took him to the Grand Canyon and down to St. George. We also took him to 7 Peaks Water Park and all around Salt Lake City. Shinichi was a great fit for our family and we miss him a lot. We did get him to start a facebook so we can keep in contact with him!

Giving Buddy away

This summer we gave Buddy away. He was a good dog, house trained and obedient, but he kept chewing the kids toys. I felt like I was losing $10 here and $20 there and I just couldn't take it anymore. We gave him to my friends mom. Her husband had recently passed away and her dog is getting up there so they wanted him for a companion for her. She spoils him rotten. He sleeps on her bed with her and she also cooks dinner for him every day. I'm glad he went to a good home. The kids have adjusted fine to him being gone. They miss him, but they are also happy that their toys don't get ruined anymore.

Asians on the Farm

We went to the Dudley's farm and rode their horses. It was our Asians on the farm day. Yai has never ridden a horse before and we also had our foreign exchange student Shinichi from Japan with us. Yai's sister and her family from St. George came up and our neighbors the Shums came as well. It was a lot of fun riding the horses. I think everyone had a great time!!

Jaylin's Green Belt Test

Jaylin tested for her Green Belt and did an awesome job. She passed with flying colors!

David's 7th Birthday

David turned 7 in July and his Aunt and Uncle and cousins from St. George came up and took him to Seven Peaks Water Park for the day. He had a lot of fun. Then he came home and opened presents and we sang Happy Birthday and had cake. Sorry there aren't any pictures of the cake and opening presents, the camera ran out of battery. I can't believe he is 7 already!

This year for the 4th of July weekend we went camping in Beaver Mountain. We made it back home just in time for our neighborhood pot luck and firework show. It was a lot of fun, the kids loved the fireworks. And it was my hubby's birthday. Happy Birthday Hon!
